Have you ever wondered how to order a beer in the local lingo while standing in a bar in Burma? What about Latvia then, or Argentina?
Well now you can find out how to order your suds in no less than 59 languages thanks to a newly released iPhone App called Pivo.
Just select the country you’re in and you’ll get not only phonetic instructions on how to order your beer but a short video tutorial featuring some pretty characterful native speakers showing you how to get the pronunciation just right.
Pivo is the brainchild of Englishmen Justin Amey and Ollie Hepworth, who were visiting a bar in Prague when they released they didn’t know how to order a beer in Czech.
Justin Amey, creator of Pivo commented: “We couldn’t believe it when we landed in Prague and couldn’t find the help we needed to indulge in one of the Czech Republic’s most famous exports.
A few months later Pivo (which means beer in Czech) was born and is currently ranked number 2 in iTunes Sweden’s Travel category.
It costs 69 pence, which is pretty cheap in any language. You can find at at iTunes here.
